Louie Palu
Louie Palu is a photojournalist and filmmaker whose work has covered human rights, poverty and war for 27-years. He is a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow and has been awarded Pulitzer Center grants, several POYi and NPPA BOP awards.
Louie has worked throughout the U.S., Canada, Central and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, including covering conflict in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mexico and Ukraine. His work has been featured on the BBC, PBS, NPR, Der Spiegel, El Pais, La Republica and The New York Times.
He is currently working in the Arctic with National Geographic Magazine and is a contract photographer with ZUMA Press. He has taught numerous workshops on working in hostile environments and is a memberĀ of the Frontline Freelance Register, an organization that advocates for the safety of journalists exposed to risk while gathering news.
