Karen Mullarkey

Karen Mullarkey’s career in photography began over 50 years ago at Life Magazine, where she learned her craft. During her career she was the Photography Director at Rolling Stone Magazine, New York Magazine, Newsweek and Sports Illustrated.

She has been the picture editor on over 70 books. Karen produced and directed numerous documentary films and was a member of the management teams at a number of internet start-ups.

Karen has curated permanent exhibitions at The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth and the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. For six years, she produced a multi-media shows for the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, Calif.

She has been a lecturer at numerous colleges and universities throughout America. Karen continues her long-standing commitment to mentor photographers. She has been called a “National Treasure” by many of the most celebrated photographers of our time.
