Laura Oliverio

Laura Oliverio is a photo editor and photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. She works as a Photo Editor at CNN, where she helps the digital team select images for various visual stories.
Previously, Laura participated in The Visura Mentorship Program as a mentee to Adriana Teresa Letorney. In this role, she worked on a project highlighting the success stories of 36 freelance photographers worldwide. She focused not only on selecting the strongest images but also on showcasing each photographer’s unique vision.
Laura graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in photography and psychology. During her time there, she served as President of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) SU Chapter for two years. She later became Head of Visuals at The Newshouse, assigning over 20 photographers to cover stories on inequality in Central New York.
In her personal projects, Laura blends documentary and art photography, exploring themes of family, childhood, and psychology. She is passionate about connecting with others, especially those interested in photography, and is always eager to learn about new creative projects.
