Bernadette Tuazon

Bernadette Tuazon is the director of photography for CNN Digital, where she oversees photo coverage of breaking news and features. Tuazon manages a team of photo editors spread across Atlanta, London, New York and Washington, DC. Her photo team won a 2020 Webby Award for best use of photography, and it also won several awards at the 2019 Pictures of the Year International. In 2020, CNN Digital was awarded the Visa D’or Daily Press Award in collaboration with photographer Rosem Morton for her work on sexual assault.

 Before joining CNN, Tuazon was a senior photo editor for the Associated Press for more than two decades. Tuazon has served as a juror for Visa Pour l’Image, Pictures of the Year International, the Online News Association, the Asian American Journalists Association and the Women Photojournalists of Washington. She has also been a reviewer for the New York Portfolio Review and a mentor for Women Photograph. Tuazon studied general and international studies at Columbia University in New York and graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines, with a B.A. in communications, majoring in journalism.
