Jackie Russo
Jackie Russo is a portrait and fine art photographer based in Mexico City, with roots in Southern California. The daughter of a Mexican immigrant and an American, much of her work in Mexico is informed by ideas of assimilation, memory and cultural identity. Her portraiture is driven by the desire to represent her subjects with respect and sensitivity in aesthetically considered frames. For several years she worked alongside Sylvia Plachy, where she learned about the value of allowing work to be deeply personal but still informative.
Jackie holds a BFA in Photography & Imaging from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and shoots on commission from individuals, commercial clients, and publications.
