Matt Ford
Matt Ford is an award-winning journalist, documentary filmmaker, and experimenter of new forms of visual storytelling. Since 2006, he’s worked in areas of conflict and post-conflict, producing compelling film, video, and interactive web content for global journalism outlets and the world’s leading peace and humanitarian organizations.
He started his career in Los Angeles as a set lighting technician on shows like the West Wing and Alias, and films like Along Came Polly and Spider Man 2.
After the attacks of 9/11 and the U.S. invasion of Iraq he transitioned into multimedia journalism at The Associated Press covering the 2008 U.S. presidential election, the “Arab Spring,” and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In 2013, he co-founded Vignette, a creative agency that supported international NGOs like Search for Common Ground and the International Rescue Committee by developing innovative approaches to digital documentary storytelling
Today, as an Independent Journalist and Filmmaker, he pursues projects that educate, inspire, and build bridges across communities and cultures.
