The 2025 Northern Short Course in Photojournalism is on the Move!

The Northern Short Course in Photojournalism (NSC) is moving to May 2025! The exact dates and venue will be announced soon but mark your calendars as the NSC Photo and Multimedia Contest opens on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

This change allows NSC organizers to provide an even more enriching experience for attendees by ensuring the availability of top-tier speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities. We will be introducing new hands-on shooting opportunities with small-group photo walks. These will provide participants with practical experience and personalized guidance from seasoned professionals.

As always, the event will feature a rich lineup of expert-led workshops, speakers, portfolio reviews, and panels addressing the latest trends and challenges in the photojournalism industry. Meet manufacturers and suppliers of photographic equipment, presenting the latest technology available and offering equipment clean and checks.

“We are excited about the opportunities this schedule shift provides to enhance the Northern Short Course experience for all participants,” said Michelle McLoughlin, chair of the Northern Short Course. “We remain committed to delivering an inspiring and educational event that meets the evolving needs of photojournalists at every stage of their careers.”

Registration for the event will open in the coming months, and attendees can expect announcements about speakers, schedules, and other details soon. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky.

The Northern Short Course in Photojournalism has been a cornerstone of the photojournalism community for over 40 years, bringing together professionals and students to share knowledge, foster creativity, and celebrate the art of visual storytelling. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an aspiring journalist, the NSC offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
